2023 Annual Report for KPAP/KRTO & IMEC

Support during COVID-19

As COVID-19 has had a major impact on tourism globally, seasonal workers – such as porters – have been dramatically affected. We have expanded our work to support the mountain crew during this pandemic. This includes classes in Budgeting & Money Management, Alternative Income Generating Projects, Organic Farming Workshops and Village Savings and Loan groups.

We are asking our international IMEC/KPAP family, our friends and supporters, to help us empower the mountain crew in becoming self-sustainable. Thank you for your support!

Please be advised that your donation will be used in full to support KPAP by way of its parent organization, the International Mountain Explorers Connection, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based out of Boulder, Colorado in the United States.

Ways to Give

Financial Support

KPAP depends on donations and grants to help fund our free programs for porters. Please help support the work of the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project. Donations made through our parent organization, the International Mountain Explorers Connection, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, are tax-deductible according to U.S. law for U.S. donors. Please join us and become a part of advocating for and safeguarding the fair and ethical treatment of Kilimanjaro porters by donating to this worthy cause.

In-Kind Donations

Clothing donations are accepted to support our free clothing lending program for the mountain crew.  Any gear that you would wear during your mountain trek are needed.  Due to the expensive mailing costs, and import taxes in Tanzania, it is best to have the gear carried by individuals who are traveling to Tanzania and have additional space in their luggage allowance.  Please communicate with KPAP prior to traveling so that we can advise you about the procedures for customs.
